Payment with a credit card is preferred, but checks may also be accepted.

Uniform size requests will be documented.  If you are unsure about a uniform size, you will need to attend one of the in-person registrations.

August 20 at SJWAA Complex from 6 o’clock to 8 o’clock

August 24 at SJWAA Complex from 6 o’clock to 8 o’clock

August 27 at the Belleair Recreational Center from 6 o’clock to 8 o’clock

A birth certificate will need to be provided to the Club (hard copy or email to info@celticfl.net), if one is not on file.  This will be scanned and uploaded to the state’s governing body (FYSA) for age verification.

What age group will my child will play in this season?

The age groups are U6, U8, U10, U12, U14, U16 and U19.  The “U” stands for “under”.  For example, 6 and 7 year olds play in the U8 division.  Your child’s “league age” is the child’s age before August 1st of that year.  Your child’s age group fills in automatically when you register online.

What does it cost?

Registration Fees

U6 – $90, U8 – $140, U10/U14 – $165, U16/U19 – $185

All registration costs, except for U6, can be made in multiple payments.  The payment plan options are provided during the online registration.

A late fee will be applied for late registrations.  The last day for U6 registrations will be August 31st.  The last day for U8-U19 will be Sept 16th.

Volunteer Hours (does not apply to U6)

Families are required to contribute 4 volunteer hours per player.  At registration, you will be asked for a $30, refundable fee to cover these hours.  At the end of the season, if the hours have been met, you will receive a return check for the complete amount.

Fundraising

Each family is required to buy tickets to the annual fundraising raffle (U6- $10, U8-U19: $20).  The tickets can then be sold to family and friends, to recoup the initial cost.

What Equipment does my child need?

All players: soccer ball (U6/U8 size 3, U10/U12 size 4, U14+ size 5), cleats, shinguards, and a water bottle.

U6: The club will provide your child with a T-shirt. You will need to provide a pair of shorts and socks. The recommended color for both is black.

U8-U19: The club will provide the jersey, shorts, and socks.

When does the season start and end?

U6: Practices start the first week in September. Games start on Saturday,

September 12th, with the last game (Festival) on Saturday, October 17.

We will use the last week in October for any possible makeup games.

U8-U19: Practices will start in mid-October. The first game will be Nov 7th. The last game is Feb 13th.

The season will end in late February with either an in house jamboree

festival, or participation in GYSA Cup, which depending on results could

last through the first weekend of March.

When are the practices and games?

U6:  For families that have registered to play primarily out of the Belleair facility, the schedule will be Tuesday and Saturday.  For families that have registered to play primarily out of the Seminole facility (SJW), the schedule will be Wednesday and Saturday.  The first two weeks, the teams will practice on those days. The following weeks, the teams will play games on those days. Game times on weeknights are at 6:00. However, teams are encouraged to arrive by 5:30, to practice and warm up. Game times on Saturdays will range between approximately 9:00 and 11:00.

U8-U19:  There will be two practices per week.  The exact days and times are selected by the Coach, to best suit his/her schedule.  All games are held on Saturdays.  In general, the younger age groups will be in the mornings.  Older age groups may play some afternoon games.  The exact schedule will not be set until about two weeks before the beginning of the season.

Where are the games played?

U6: For families that signed up to play primarily out of Belleair, the majority of games will be at the Belleair Rec Center.  Depending on the number of teams that finally register, some games will probably need to be played at SJW, to even out the schedule. The same applies for families that signed up to play primarily out of SJW.

U8 In-House: IF we have a minimum of 6 teams, the number of games that can be played at the field of your preference, will be dependent on the number of teams that register, and where those other teams prefer to play.  For example, if we have eight teams, and six of them prefer to play out of SJW, then the majority of the games will be there.

U8 GYSA: If we have less than 6 team sign up, then we are required to enter those teams into the county-wide league called GYSA (Gulfcoast Youth Soccer Association).  Teams in GYSA will play about half of their games at home, and half at other local clubs.  GYSA tries very hard to ensure the shortest possible travel times for all clubs, when travelling.  However, this is subject to change each year, depending on which clubs enter.  Home games will be played at either Belleiar or SJW (set by the Coach).

U10-U19: All teams will play in GYSA, as described above.

Can my child play on the same team as a Family Member, Friend or Coach?

All teams are selected using the GYSA Guidelines to balance the age and skill level among teams.  Therefore, each team can only have three protected players: Coach’s child, Assistant Coach’s child, and Team Sponsor’s Child.

All other players are given a two-digit code to identify their age and experience (“Y” or “O” for Younger or Older, and either a “I” or an “E” for Inexperienced or Experienced).  The registrants are divided up into four groups (YI, YO, IE, IO), who are evenly placed onto teams.

When we have less than 6 teams, and have to enter those teams into GYSA, this process is very formal.  Special requests may be made, but are not guaranteed, and should not be expected.

When we have at least 6 teams (U6 and sometimes U8), we do not have to enter our teams into GYSA, which enhances our ability to grant special requests.  But it should be noted that any such requests are still not guaranteed.

How can I guarantee that I play primarily out of Belleiar or SJW?

This question is only applicable to U6-U12 ages.  All older ages only play at SJW.

The only way to guarantee this preference is to volunteer to coach a team or sponsor a team.  The Club tries very hard to assign players to play for teams based out of their preferred location.  However, all Recreational teams rely on volunteer parent coaches.  There are no paid or club-assigned coaches for any recreational teams.  Therefore, as an incentive and courtesy, the Club gives final preference to the Coaches to determine where they will practice/play.  Therefore, situations may arise where players may need to be assigned to fields, which are not their preference.

Please note that teams are filled in the order in which they are received.  So if you cannot coach or sponsor a team, you will give yourself the next best chance of practicing/playing out of the field of your preference, if you register early.  It should also be noted that the Club does not offer refunds if you are not able to play out of the field of your preference.

What types of sponsorship opportunities are there at the Club?

Team Sponsorship

The cost for team sponsorship is $125 for U6 and $350 for all other ages.

There are three benefits of team sponsorship:

Your child will be a “protected player”, which means that you can essentially pick the team and/or coach for whom you would like to play.

Your company’s name will be printed on the back of all the game jerseys.

You will receive a sponsor’s team plaque.

General Club Sponsor

The Club has general sponsorship opportunities starting at $250.  All club sponsors will receive website recognition under Celtic Florida Friends.  Benefits offered, at increasing levels, include field banners, website promotions, email campaigns and business exclusivity.  Celtic FC Florida is a not-for-profit, 501-C3, organization.  All donations are tax deductible – 59-2908641.
