Celtic U15 Boys are the State of Florida President’s Cup Champions!!! It’s been 27 years since Celtic (formally Known as GCU, Seminole Junior Warhawks, and Seminole Strikers) have been to a National Competition. The Celtic boys played in The Presidents Club this past weekend. Presidents Cup is made up of teams from around the state. Celtic bested Florida Rush 1-0 ( Orlando)  to reach the championship game against Kendall Hammock Lightning ( Miami). Celtic boys were down 0-2 at the half,  but never stopped believing in themselves and tied the game up in dramatic fashion 2-2 at the end of regulation .The game went to overtime and the boys took the momentum with them scoring a goal in the first 5 minutes of overtime to take the lead 3-2. With only 8 minutes left in overtime our boys scored again sealing a victory 4-2 to advance to the National Regional that takes place Lafayette, La. June  11th and 12th.

It is our goal and expectation to make it to the National President’s Cup taking place in July in Kansas to play with the best of the best in America on a National Stage. In order to do this we must raise $21,000 in 6 weeks just to get to Lafayette La. Our boys have played and worked hard together for the last 3 years to get this far which is a HUGE accomplishment “State of Florida President’s Cup CHAMPIONS” but we don’t want to stop there.  As with any travel there are expenses, but traveling to Lafayette is a expense we have never encountered before,  out of state travel 1600 miles from Seminole, Florida, 4 nights of hotel expenses, travel expense , gas , food all adds up to approx. $1500 per player and with 14 players $21,000. We are reaching out to any and all soccer and Celtic supporters and ask that a donation in any amount is very much appreciated. We will be representing the community of Seminole, Pinellas County, the State of Florida and the Celtic Shield we wear proudly. Please join me in whishing our boys well as they take on the best of Texas, Tennessee, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia and help our boys get to Lafayette by donating what you can.
